Brown Family Apps builds mobile applications and websites with a data-minimization approach. We do not sell personal information, rent user data, or build advertising profiles from your use of our apps. We use information only when it is needed to provide a requested feature, maintain an account, process a purchase, protect the service, or diagnose technical problems.
1. BrownFamilyApps.com
We do not intentionally use advertising trackers or behavioral analytics on brownfamilyapps.com. The website may be hosted by a third-party hosting provider, which can process standard technical request information such as IP addresses, browser details, and server logs for hosting, security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
2. Information our apps may process
Depending on the app and the features you choose to use, our apps may process the following categories of information:
- App content you create: records, notes, photos, dates, flock information, job or client information, settings, and similar content entered into an app.
- Account information: an email address or authentication identifier when an app requires sign-in.
- Files you choose to export or back up: data is sent only to the destination or provider you choose, such as a file share target or your own cloud storage.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and technical device/app information when Firebase Crashlytics is enabled.
- Purchase information: product identifiers, purchase status, transaction/order identifiers, or entitlement status needed to validate an in-app purchase or subscription. Payment-card details are handled by the app store/payment provider, not Brown Family Apps.
3. Firebase Crashlytics and diagnostics
We use, or may add, Google Firebase Crashlytics to our apps to identify crashes and improve reliability. Crashlytics can automatically collect crash stack traces, relevant application state, device and operating-system metadata, Crashlytics installation identifiers, Firebase installation identifiers, and similar technical information associated with a crash.
We use crash information for debugging and stability, not for advertising. Our intent is not to place user-entered content, names, email addresses, photos, or other sensitive information into custom crash-report fields. Where technically practical, we may provide an in-app setting for diagnostic reporting.
Google describes Firebase and Crashlytics data handling at Firebase Privacy and Security.
4. In-app purchases, subscriptions, and microtransactions
Some Brown Family Apps products may offer subscriptions, one-time purchases, or microtransactions. Purchases are processed by the applicable app store or payment platform, such as Google Play. We do not receive or store your full credit-card number. We may receive purchase status and transaction-related information required to unlock content, restore purchases, prevent fraud, provide support, or maintain entitlements.
Purchases are not used to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell purchase information.
5. Eggsy
Core flock records
Eggsy lets you store egg logs, flock and coop details, hen records, notes, hatch dates, cull dates, feed/supply/sale entries, and related settings. These records are intended to remain on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
CSV export and sharing
When you use Eggsy's export or share features, the app creates a file and hands it to the destination or sharing option you select. Brown Family Apps does not need to receive that exported file.
Photos and AI-powered features
Eggsy includes photo-based breed identification features. If a feature requires cloud AI processing, the bird image or other content you intentionally submit may be transmitted to the service provider used to generate the result. Do not submit images containing people, documents, location information, or other sensitive content. AI results may be inaccurate and should be treated as a guide rather than a definitive identification.
Diagnostics
If Firebase Crashlytics is enabled in the version of Eggsy you use, the diagnostic practices described in Section 3 apply.
6. JobSnap
| Account data | JobSnap may collect your email address when you create an account or sign in through Firebase Authentication or Google Sign-In. This is used to authenticate and secure your account. |
|---|---|
| Client & job data | Names, phone numbers, addresses, service notes, scheduling information, crew time, and other records you enter or import are processed to provide JobSnap's core functions. |
| Photos | Job-site photos may be stored locally and, when you explicitly choose it, backed up to your own Google Drive account. |
| Firebase | JobSnap's current privacy disclosure includes Firebase Authentication, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics. Firebase Analytics, when enabled, is used for product/reliability insight and not for advertising profiles. |
| Purchases | Subscriptions or other purchases are processed by Google Play or the applicable store. Brown Family Apps does not receive full payment-card information. |
JobSnap may also use Google Play Services and Google Drive APIs for sign-in and user-controlled backup/restore features.
7. Permissions
An app may request access to device capabilities such as the camera, photos/files, contacts, or notifications when a feature needs that access. We aim to request permissions only in context and only for the feature you choose to use. You can revoke permissions in your device settings, although doing so may disable the related feature.
8. Data sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data. We may share or transmit data to service providers only when needed to provide app functionality, such as authentication, crash reporting, cloud backup, AI processing, or app-store purchase processing. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices.
9. Data retention and deletion
Local-only data
For app content stored only on your device, deleting the data inside the app, clearing app storage, or uninstalling the app may remove that local copy. Files you exported or backed up remain wherever you chose to save them until you delete them there.
JobSnap account deletion
You can delete individual records in JobSnap. To request deletion of your JobSnap account and associated Brown Family Apps cloud/server data, email jobsnapappinfo@gmail.com with the subject Account Deletion Request. We will process verified deletion requests within 30 days unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or transaction-record obligations.
See the dedicated Account Deletion page for the request steps.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical measures appropriate to the services we operate. Data sent to supported cloud services is generally protected in transit using HTTPS/TLS. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Children's privacy
Unless an app's store listing or an app-specific policy states otherwise, our products are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through one of our services, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when an app gains or removes a feature, when a service provider changes, or when legal/platform requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect material revisions.
13. Contact
Questions about privacy, support, or data deletion can be sent to jobsnapappinfo@gmail.com.
